Pacific Mural Exchange

Learning through the work.Connecting on the wall.

Pacific Mural Exchange is an emerging public-art and workforce-development initiative expanding access to mural arts, commercial painting, and creative careers through hands-on education, professional mentorship, technology, and cultural exchange.

An emerging model for learning through real work

Artistic development meets architectural-scale practice.

PME connects artistic development with the practical skills required to work at architectural scale. Participants learn through commissioned projects, training programs, workshops, and cultural exchanges guided by experienced artists, educators, designers, and painting professionals.

Some PME opportunities are paid placements within commissioned work. Others are unpaid hands-on training or educational experiences. Each opportunity should clearly identify its structure, expectations, and compensation before participation.

Cultural exchange

Art creates a place to learn together.

PME approaches cultural exchange as collaborative work: artists and students share techniques, stories, and perspectives while developing art connected to a specific place. Local knowledge, cultural context, and professional practice shape the result.
